Ontario AG says he wants to upgrade paper-based justice system that critics say is living in ‘the dark ages

Ontario’s attorney general reaffirmed his intentions on Wednesday to electronically upgrade the province’s justice system, which critics say is living in the “dark ages.”

Yasir Naqvi, who took over the role of attorney general after Madeleine Meilleur retired four months ago, said the government has held talks with the Ontario Bar Association on updating the system, but refused to set a timeline for a process he said will be “step-by-step.”
